Welcome to LTS VIN Decoder!!!
We are proud to announce the New Release of LTS VIN Decoder!!!
You can now check for a valid VIN prior to ORSV.
LTS VIN Decoder© lookup
by VIN or by License Plate Number
By providing this capability to our LTS clients, they in turn save time,
reducing potential errors, and minimizing costs. Thus resulting in higher
quality of data and more usable data, than having a bad VIN check..
ü Increase
the ease of obtaining the correct VIN
ü
Increasing revenue to your business
ü Reduce
turnaround time for each vehicle process
ü Allowing
more vehicles to be processed accurately
ü Reduce
the risk of ordering incorrect parts if you are repairing a vehicle
ü Reduce
potential costs for obtaining the VIN (ie: Invalid VIN,
walking back to vehicle to read VIN again, etc.)
Any vehicle 1981 or later that follows the VIN decode standards should be
able to be decoded.
This product provides a simple interface:
· Enter a VIN or License Plate Number and State and LTS VIN Decoder©
will display the full VIN decode information
· VIN information can contain just the YEAR, MAKE, MODEL
· VIN information can contain full vehicle information
Multiple VIN / PLATE / STATE Matches
Should a plate and state match to more than one VIN, then all VIN's will
be displayed along with their corresponding vehicle make, model and year.
This system will display Duplicates Found. Typically this is estimated
to happen on less than one percent of vin/plate/state searches. If there are
multiple possible VIN matches for the requested vin/plate, they will all
be provided with their own vin-info.
Setting Up Your Company with LTS Decoder
Upon a request to add your company to LTS's validation table, this
setup
may take up to 72 hours. In that time it is suggested a ping test is
performed on application startup, and / or timed periods to determine if
your company has been setup in LTS validation table. This can be done by
making a VIN request from the application. If an error response is received
then your company's setup has not been completed.
To Use LTS Vin Decoder
You must be conntected to the internet.
Your Internet connection speed will determine how quickly you get a
reponse from LTS VIN Decoder. You can turn ON/OFF this feature by
selecting UTILITIES, SYSTEM INFORMATION, SCREEN 2 button, select the
EDIT button, then select DECODE VIN: Y=YES OR N=NO
General VIN Information
A vehicle identification number (VIN) is the identifying code for a
SPECIFIC vehicle. It is a vehicle's fingerprint.
Explaination of LTS VIN Decoder©
VIN decoder allows you to see the information about a vehicle ie:
Year Make and Model.
VIN Decoder supports decoding of any vehicle identification number that was
issued after 1978, which is when ISO 3779 was established to make a uniform
way to track vehicles.
If you have a vehicle you would like to lookup prior to 1978, I would
recommend going to
Wikipedia on the internet and goto:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_Identification_Number#World_Manufacturer_Identifier
they have one of the more comprehensive listings of VIN's plus some additional
related information.
Operation is simple, enter the VIN number (17 characters, A thru Z and 0 thru
9)
and click DECODE button. On the decode page you'll see your VIN again and the
position of each character, then on the bottom portion you'll see what
position and characters map to what information. As more information becomes
available, more details about the vehicle will be displayed (such as the
model, engine size, options, etc), please be patient!
VIN's are normally located in several locations on a vehicle, but the most
common places are in the door frame of the front doors, on engine itself,
around the steering wheel, or on the dash near the window. If you can't find
it in any of those areas, then don't ask me because I certainly don't know! :)
Either call the dealership for the car manufacturer and ask them, or search
online for a site dedicated to your particular vehicle (or check the above
mentioned Wikipedia website on the internet).
Common locations of the VIN vary but the following
are places to look:
Firewall of the vehicle
Left hand inner wheel arch
Steering column
Radiator Support Bracket
Dash by windshield
Drivers door or post on passenger side
Guarantee & Maintenance Book *Vehicle documents
Machined Pad on front of engine
Component parts as listed above -eg- engine, frame, etc.
Later model years - most common area's of VIN:
